Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? Chapter 133

Chapter 133.

133 No.1 of hardness, No.2 of speed

No, that's impossible.
Nai wa.
What's that?
Of course I escaped with Transfer.
There's no choice to not escape.
There's no way I can win.

Kaguna that I don't know whether I can win or not is together with Geere that has "Space Maneuver" and it's clear that it's a speed type just by seeing its status.
It's like I'm told to die.
If they come in such lineup, I can't win even if I gather all of my "Parallel Will".
Nai wa.

Earth Dragon Geere has a considerably smart appearance, and it was a figure close to Alaba.
Although it was huge, unlike the short and stout Kaguna, it has a sharp form that seems to be fast.
Actually, it's speed type that has the speed exceeding 4000.
Besides, it has high perception-type skills and "Evasion" skill, so it seems that it doesn't have the intention to receive any attack.

I mean, although it's serious that my eyes are attracted to its speed, Geere-san's defensive ability is quite a lot.
Although it's not as much as Kaguna, it has high status with the support by the skills, quite a lot of resistance, and there's also the "High-speed HP Recovery" skill.
It won't hit and even if it hits, it's not painful.
What can I do against such thing?

And, it's physical offensive ability is high enough.
Especially, the blades attached to both arms.
I have the premonition that I will split in two if I receive it.

Move around in high speed, blessed physique, and the attack with the blade.
Of course, breath is a standard equipment.
My attacks can't hit, and even if it hits, it's not a big deal if the power is low.
What an impossible game.
Huh?
Although this guy's level is lower than Kaguna, isn't it more troublesome than Kaguna in a certain meaning?

First of all, I should marked it, and wait for those two separate from now on and act.

Marking is one of the effect of "Wisdom", I can attach a mark on the target.
It's a function that I can know the target's location no matter where it is as long as this mark is attached.
Well, if it's a place that I don't know, it will only show roughly "around here" though.
Although the lower layer's map is not completed yet, the mark of Kaguna and Geere is close together.
It seems that they won't separate for a while.
Incidentally, if I mark it, I can confirm the target's status anytime.
If I see this, I can transfer to it and assault it when it's weakened.
Though I don't think that the two Earth Dragons will weaken.

By the way, something like composing a different magic before transfer, and fire it to the opponent at the moment I transfer can't be done.
Even if I compose a magic beforehand, it will disperse at the moment I transfer.
This is not just the composition power, but it can't be helped because it's the specification of Transfer.

For the time being, let's raise my level in a different location until these guys separate.
There should still be other Earth Dragons in the lower layer, so it's alright to defeat the other one first.
Like a revenge on Alaba.

Come to think of it, I begin to be afraid of Earth Dragon is because of that guy.
It's not bad to defeat that guy to overcome my trauma.
Should I return to the pit where the large swarm of bees are there after a long time?
Ah, I have "Space Maneuver" now, so doesn't that means that I can overhunt the bees as much as I want?
Oh.
That's good.
Good for experience points and food.

Because I started to overhunt the monsters in the lower layer, I have secured too many foods.
But, when I start the level raising of skills that uses SP, the foods are consumed quite fast.
I have a lot of skills that I want to raise like "Dragon Power" and "Space Maneuver" that didn't rise much in the middle layer and the upper layer.

That's why, food is never too much no matter how much I have.
If it's the current me, it won't be a hard fight against the bees, so I will consider that place as my temporary food storage.
If luck is on my side, I will encounter Alaba, and I want to at least check its status and mark it.
Just by seeing Kaguna and Geere, it seems that it's hard to fight the Earth Dragon without countermeasures.
Besides, Alaba's level should be higher than Kaguna if my memory is right.
I return with the data, and I must fight after making the countermeasures.

When I think like this, the Dragon is strong after all.
I did well to defeat the Fire Dragon in first sight.
That was really a miraculous victory.

However, the Fire Dragon has a more smart composition of status and skills than the Earth Dragons.
If I say it well, it's versatile.
If I say it badly, jack-of-all-trades and master of none.
There was only a little resistance, and it might not have much enemy in the middle layer.

Compared with it, the Earth Dragon seems to work its way up.
What's with that high resistance?
What kind of eventful Dragon life did it live to become like that?
Did it became a Dragon after fighting to the bitter end?
Lower layer is terrifying.

It might because of that, it became such a one-sided status.
Raise it's strength to the limit, and match it with the inborn defensive ability.
Kaguna swings to defense, and Geere swings to quickness.
Moreover, while they swing to one side, it's nasty that I don't have a chance.

When someone specialized in something like me, it's normal that there's a weak point that remains somewhere.
Those cheaters.

Anyway, even if I fight against such guys directly, I can't win, so let's work hard to raise my level until it becomes the situation where I can crush each one of them.
What if they never separate?
What should I do?
I don't know.

  1. Dragons. I wonder if by fighting all elements of the dragons will she gain anything haha. Well thanks for translating once again so consistently. I hope there'll be more action tomorrow

    1. Maybe after said suggestion she might get a dragon tamer title or skill or smt

    2. Who knows how many kinds of dragons there are? There might just be the four elements but it's very possible that there are others as well. Dark dragon, poison dragon, light dragon, ice dragon, etc. There are plenty of elements in this story. Granted I doubt they all appear in this dungeon but we know that the Water Dragon is in the ocean between continents.

  2. What happened to other wills?
Don't tell me Kumoko really had shadow clone skill and send them to gather exp for her in various location.

    1. That is correct. And she is recalling one to re-merge with her to help fight the dragons

    2. I don't think she can split yeah it probably is that she forced her soul into the body of some dead thing she killed

      Delete
    3. It was already said at one of the chapters that she can separate her wills into shadow clone.like bodies (i think it was the Body Flicker skill). She just needed to raise that skill and her Parallel thouhght first.

      Delete
    4. When did it say that? And the body flicker skill? The Body Flicker skill just gives more explosive(yellow) stamina and perhaps adds a modifier. It doesn't really have anything to do with magic or new bodies.

      Delete
    5. I don't remember any skill like that, but there's a few that weren't explained that could be possible (shadow manipulation level 10 maybe?), but body flicker definitely is not it as the first time I remember seeing it was Yuugo in the side stories, and he definately couldn't make clones. Judging by the conversation with herself, 'main body' would indicate clones, and I think 'intense resistance' maybe is a clone body training up fire resistance in base 5?

      Delete
    6. yeah, Body Flicker is the evolution of agility. just improves the temporary stamina.

She has level 10 shadow magic, and if the spell/skill is there, she can make shadow clones and have a will in each of them.

    7. "Parallel Will" is really convenient.
With this, if there are two bodies, I can do the shadow clone that I dreamed.
Ah, but in that case, both are the main bodies, so harming either one is painful.
      Ah, I don't want that.
Although I will survive if one of them remains, doesn't that means that I will experience a pseudo death?

Sounds like here that she already has the skill and appraised it?

    8. Uhh sorry about that, i don't know why i thought that was the body flicker skill then :/ (but i thought others who had it couldn't use it without parallel will)

  3. If you're wondering what happened to the other parallel wheels let me just say she just got a huge dose of Gilgamesh level arrogance

    1. Also It seems like a parallel wills went "somewhere"
As in there currently separated from her and where the place they went I don't know. They seem to be on the mission of some time

    2. Theyre constructing a magic circle lol

  5. Thanks for the chapter!

  6. Too many time skips and not showing us her improvements. Don't just randomly drop that the parallel wills are elsewhere and don't explain.

    1. Its called foreshadowing for future events

      Delete
    2. That's not foreshadowing. Foreshadowing is leaving clues about future events. This is intentionally not explaining current events.

      Delete
    3. I'd have to agree with Corey. Maybe its a culture gap and this is the norm for the author, but this many time skips is confusing.

      Delete
    4. No one said it was a time skip we already know she's going to level up. She was going to do it extremely quickly now. it just didn't show us what she was doing in that not so long time frame.

All we know right now is that she's currently trying to level up.
she's currently trying to level up fast, very fast

      Delete
    5. It doesn't need to be said if it's shown. Up until recently time skips were only being used when nothing interesting was happening. Now it's skipping skills being mastered, important skills being developed/bought, and we haven't seen her status seen she's evolved.

      Delete
    6. Not quite time skip.. more like gloss over? I quote:

      "Eat.
      Eat.
      Eat.
I don't hide the act anymore.
I crunch daringly and swallow it.
Like eating everything until it runs out."

Which is more or less a summary of what she's been doing. We miss out on a lot of details...

      Delete
    7. My impression is that the author cut in on her eating something after that she summarizes what she's been up to. It's still something of a time skip because she's telling us in the past tense. 'This is what I did.' not 'This is what I'm doing.'

      Delete
    8. It's possibly the Indy Ploy thing; like in the fight with the Fire Dragon, where she was working on those skills and it was neither confirmed nor denied that she'd reached the points she did with them beforehand (Shadow Magic being at the level it was at, as well as Heresy Magic's higher level functions and her finally figuring out how to pull off a Hell spell when she actually hadn't practiced it beforehand).

Here she's at a vague level but we have the indicators that 1) Parallel Will leveled at least 4 times, 2) she's become powerful enough to hunt monsters at the Low level confidently, maybe even casually, 3) she's /not/ powerful enough to casually 1v1 the Earth Dragon she fled from before and 4) she's able to send her 'wills' off to other areas to achieve goals completely separate from the body. The majority of that time would have been her grousing about how she needs to destroy the living and "Here I go killin' again." With this, that was condensed to the one chapter and we get a hefty meal next time the self-appraisal screen comes up.

  7. Ahhhh nai wa.

    I'm all caught up already.

    That's so nai wa.

Thank you Turb0 for translating this!

  9. I think the time jumps are interesting. As for the current "time-skip", it's basically a training montage type of thing. Kumoko can afford to run wildly because she's a little bit strong, so it doesn't make sense to keep saying "I killed a bunch of stuff and leveled up a few skills" over and over again. So instead, she gets "I needed to get stronger fast so I went a little crazy, tehe~pero" and several levels later, she comes to her sense. In time for a fight that's a little more interesting than "I cut a monster in half and ate it".

  10. At first I want to say what the heck is mainly going on?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thanks for the chapter.

"Earth Dragon Kaguna: it doesn't have the intention to receive any damage."
"Earth Dragon Geere: it doesn't have the intention to receive any attack."

These Earth dragons are almost becoming my favorite characters.
    -
    Also, Kumoko's plan is this:

    1. Mark the two giant dragons to avoid them while they're together and to know when they separate.
Attempt fighting one while they're separated.

    2. Hunt giant bees because they're safe to fight and yet useful to kill at her strength.

    3. Mark Earth Dragon Alaba if she encounters it. Consider fighting it.

This is beginning to seem a lot like Monster Hunter.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Don't tell me those two are actually breeding or something, that's seriously nai wa~

  13. Dead bodies never seem to spoil in this cave or even in the heat of the magma caverns. I guess the author didn't want the MC to be eating rotted putrid flesh. I guess the logic is such that a magma layer can exist in between two non-magma layers of earth.

    1. Most of the monsters are poisonous. Rotting isn't really a problem
