Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? Elf Village 2

Elf Village 2.
Sensei is really....

Elf Village ②

The next day, Katia and I were taken along by Sensei, and we went to a certain place in the Elf Village.
Actually, I don't want to part with Anna in the present state, but because Hyrinth-san said 「Leave it to me」, I have decided to depend on the kindness.
If possible, I wanted to go to the place where we are heading now with Katia only.
The place we are heading now is the place where the reincarnated people are sheltered.

Because similar trees grow in abundance, the scenery that doesn't change continues.

「It's a considerable walk」
「Yes. The Elf Village is wide after all. The vicinity of the center of the forest called the Garam Large Forest is approximately the same as Tokyo's 23 wards in wideness」
「That much!?」
「Yes. Because there's the agriculture ward, the population density is not so high though」
「Rather than a village, it's a country」
「That's right. Here has the natural fortress called the Large Forest, and double defense called the barrier that boasted of its impregnability for a long time. If you exclude that the Elves are exclusive, I think that it's the safest and easy-to-live place in the world. I thought of it before」

Sensei sighs.

「If the barrier is really destroyed, the safety can't be guaranteed. Because there's a distance from the outer circumference to the village, there won't be dangers in the village immediately after the barrier is destroyed, but it's likely to become a severe fight」
「Does Sensei think that the barrier will break?」
「It's just a possibility. Just because it hasn't broke even once so far, it can't be said that it won't break in the future. Overconfidence is a taboo」
「The barrier never broke before, huh? By the way, since when the barrier is put up?」
「I don't know. Even the eldest Elf except Potimas was told that the barrier was there since birth」
「By the way, that person's age?」
「I think that it was about 480」
「The scale is different」

While talking so, we arrived at the destination.
The enclosure of a small field and livestock, and the people who plow the field and take care of the livestock.
One of them notices us.

「Sensei, welcome back」
「Yes, I just came back」

A cold greeting.
Sensei's expression is somewhat firm.

It was one girl who approached.
Her age is probably the same as me.
Because the words that she speaks are Japanese, I understand it.
She is a reincarnated person.

「So, are those two people the new victims?」
「They are not victims」
「That will be a difference in consciousness. At least, I think that you are the assailant though. Well, never mind. So, what are your names? Ah, not your present names, but your former names」

The girl turns her gaze here with a serious atmosphere.

「I'm Yamada Shunsuke」
「Ooshima Kanata」
「Eh? Ooshima-kun?」
「That's right」
「Uwa」
「What's with that reaction. Who are you?」
「I'm Kudo Sachi. Well, as the people who are abducted, let's get along well」

Kudo Sachi.
It's the girl who did the chairperson of the class.
Our relationship was not so good, and speaking clearly, although she has a lot of enemies because of her personality, she also has a lot of allies.
Because of her personality, she comes into conflict with Yuugo several times.

But, what's on my mind now is Kudo-san's attitude towards Sensei and many disturbing words.
The relationship between Kudo and Sensei should have been good because Kudo is the chairperson and she has a lot of chances to come into contact with Sensei.
She is glaring at Sensei like seeing her parents' enemies.

The reason is probably the word "abduct" that came out from her mouth.

「Sensei, what does she means by abducted?」
「You two are not abducted by Sensei?」
「We came here to stop Natsume」
「Natsume-kun? Is he here?」

Kudo-san frowns.
I also frown seeing her state.

If it's this state, that means that Kudo-san doesn't know that Yuugo is invading the Elf Village.
I look at Sensei wondering what is this.
Sensei shakes her head silently.
Is it not to say unnecessary thing?

「Kudo-san, Natsume is trying to invade here now leading an army」
「What?」

Katia tells the truth.
Ignoring Sensei's glance.

「Sensei, sorry. After seeing such a condition here, I can't trust Sensei after all」

Katia who folds her arms and says so with a sigh.

「From what that can be heard in Kudo's story, the people here are all abducted and brought along to here, right? Moreover, after being brought, they are left to support themselves」
「No!」
「Not wrong. I was separated with this world's parents and was brought here, and the others are almost the same」
「That's what she says. Besides, you isolate them so that they don't receive any information, right?」
「Yeah. The life here is almost self-sufficiency. Although the Elves will bring anything insufficient if we ask, that's only the minimum. Get up in the morning, plow the field, take care of the livestock, cook it and eat it. That ends a day. Because the Elves are monitoring us, we can't escape, and because the Elves don't speak of any unnecessary things, we don't know anything about the outside」
「No, the purpose of self-sufficiency is to develop your self-support ability!」
「Even though we can't get out of here? Is there a need for such thing like self-support ability in such a keeping-until-death condition?」
「That's」

Sensei hesitates to say.
Everyone stopped the work and looked at the state.

「Yamada-kun and Ooshima-kun come here because I want to ask a lot of questions」

Leaving the silent Sensei behind, Kudo-san begins to walk.
Katia follows her without hesitation.
I glanced at Sensei once, and pursued the back immediately.
Sensei looked down with the face that seemed to burst into tears.

    1. Ugh, I hate the S series, I prefer it if the Author just stuck with telling about Kumoko :/

    2. Meh, I don't mind it, especially when it's got something to do with what kumoko did lol.

These things about shun and his party, bah, don't care unless they passing by kumo sighting areas lol

    3. @Sleeping knights, yes they tend to be rather bland, these S chapters. A very stereotypic storyline without much depth. However they are important to understand the world (i.e. worldbuilding) and to at least give the 'antagonists' some showtime.

      Delete
    4. Yeah, i bet the moment the Barrier breaks is just what the demonlord waits for and then they will all be slaughtered >:D And the the S-Series will be awesome, when Yuugo and Sensei get rekt by Kumoko looking like small children fighting a MMA-Champ and shun falling into despair when he hears that all he did meant nothing muahahaha >:D

    5. the side stories themselves aren't that bad. The problem is the inbalance in the quality of characters. It isn't fun to loo at Shun's perspective because he's a bland character. He isn't really funny/admirable/relatable.

      Delete
    6. I don't mind the side stories it's just shun I don't like.

      Delete
    7. Yeah, the main (side) character makes the story. A boring character makes a boring story.

      Delete
    8. i dont know if u guys notice this but ... i think the side story and the main sotry are starting to meet .. sooner the story will fuse together..

      Delete
    9. Side story is just as good as the main story for me. You guys just hating on the character here just because they side character, the story is great.

    1. Nah. she seem genuinely sad.

maybe it's only thing she can do?

      Delete
    2. More like, she try to act as her old position dictate (teacher) and treat her ex-students as children need to be protected, and acted very highhandedly to bring them here. Shun didnt get that treatment because he's a fucking prince.
No one will be glad of being abducted to live in the countryside, farm to live~

    3. Especially when they're in a fantasy world and not allowed to enjoy the fantasy part of it

      Delete
    4. Maybe it´s not senseis fault, well maybe she was stupid enough to think fanatsy-shit like " Oh Elves are so nice"
Elves are the WORST and most EVIL Race in all of Fantasy. They are arrogant, opportunistic, treacherous AS*hole*.
Definetly Sensei was like " oh have to protect my studenty, pleas halp Potimas-senpai", she told them everything and that is the outcome of her naivity.

      Delete
    5. id say opportunistic is wrong, arrogant yes, but basically they usually have all the time in the world to get their plans to work so lay out a plan and spend a lot of years to push it into happening without taking any risks.

      Delete
    6. No elves typically aren't evil. In most fantasy settings they are arrogant yes and prefer nature and isolation from humans but in their defense in a lot of fantasy the humans are racist assholes who rape and enslave elves or just outright murder them so it's not like they don't have a reason to hate humans.

In this case though it's very likely they are very evil or at least that Potimas guys is evil. The rest might be just as isolated and brainwashed as Sensei considering they seem to fall in line with whatever he says rather easily.

    7. next 2 chapter named 'because im a teacher'

her reason is soon. so let's wait.

      Delete
    8. From what im guessing they are only keeping the students there until sensei outlives her usefulness since they are seen as dangerous elements.
Sensei, who tells such people the entire truth of being a reincarnated person and expecting unconditional help and thinking shes doing the right thing by helping her students that are scattered around the world is stupid to a fault.
At the end of the day its their lives she was only a teacher to them in the previous world by chance and most of her students wouldnt be overly familar with her like most students arent with their teachers.
Well anyway... yeah if nothing happens the only thing that would await them is a life where theyre not much better than prisoners who do the same thing everyday like a farmer family and have no choice but to be self sufficient because the elves are too selfish to give a fuck.

      Delete
    9. And if ever they can go back to earth they will write novel entitled, " I've finally been isekai'd but I live as a prisoner because of my fu**ing stupid teacher "

      Delete
  4. Looks like you got first for all the chaps today lol, grats

    ReplyDelete
  5. I was honestly expecting this all this time. The fact that sensei kept them apart and interact at little as possible with the world was a given for animosity. I mean, no matter the world, being a prisoner is never fun(and that is basically what they are.)

    1. yep, when the elves do something on their own in secret, THEy are the worst antagonists in the story.Maybe sensei sucked off all their skills to become stronger herself. i mean, who believs the shit of skill erasure?
Ruler skill has definetly the power to take away skills and make them your own.

      Delete
    2. b..but ruler authority used up divinity area... kumo said so in the 146. that doesn't sound safe.

Divinity Area:The deep area of soul that the life possess. The root of all lives, and it's also your own final dependence area.
this is mentioned in the S21

      Delete
    3. ruler skills don't use divinity area. Authorities do. If it was the innate ability of her ruler skill, she wouldn't use divinity area to use it.

      Delete
    4. I don't see why she'd need to do that. There are plenty of monsters and bandits around to absorb skills from if that was her goal.

      Delete
    5. do you think she would be able to find something approaching the number of skill points and skills these guys end up with without hunting dragons? Most people don't have much and monsters with a lot of skills will murder you.

      Delete
    6. I assume she abducted them when they were weak. If they bought skills they'd be at low levels. Also if she could steal skills then she'd have little need for skill points.

The intelligent path wouldn't be to go after dragons and their like. It would be to go after a multitude of weak monsters and humans to stack the skills and stats up. With such an ability she'd be able to fight dragons after a few months if used like that.

      Delete
    7. wow.. everyone expect teacher to have a ruler skill that steal other people skill?

you guys seem really mad at her. well.. just wait 2 more chapter. from the name it's teacher pov chapter.

    8. I don't think she has such a thing because she'd be hax beyond reason if she used it properly. Then again she did say that she didn't like using it.

  6. The students hate sensei and they have every and all right to do so.
    1. She's various means to separate them and abduct them from their family
    2. She put them in a place indistinguishable from prison and kept them isolated from the outside
    3. She's an elf
    4. Has the monitor till they can't use skills or points
    5. She has greatly overstep her bound as a "teacher"
    6. She's a fucking elf

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She's such an overbearing psycho. Just imagine her being in a relationship doing these shit and still believes what she's doing is right

      Delete
    2. She probably removed their skills if they did train.

      Delete
    3. i bet they don´t even have skillpoints anymore, cause sensei sucked them off with her ruler-skill.

      Delete
    4. Well, in sensei defense, she also probably received 'false' info from other elfs.
That's make her believed that instead of letting her students go wild like Yugo and become tools for Admin, it'd be better to let them live a hermit life for the rest of their life.
Sensei is also a victim here.

      Delete
    5. Look at things from her perspective. This world is pretty damn dangerous and the elves have taught her the admins are evil and developing skills only helps them.

What she's doing is definitely not right especially when you know a bit more of what the real situation is. But she is at least trying her best to keep her former students alive and well.

The problem is the elves themselves see the reincarnated people as a problem so their "Protection" became more like imprisonment.

Living in the elf village would probably not be so bad if the elves projected a friendlier atmosphere. But remember Vampire Girl would be dead now if Kumoko hadn't saved her and remember Saint girl saw hell to the point she clung to the church of that world.

So you can't really say they would have all been better off at home. They'd be more free but half would likely be dead by this point.

    6. I honestly don't care about the kidnapping part. The part that I scowl at is making them work to live. Farm work at that.

      Delete
    7. Don't care. If they get caught it proves they couldn't protect themselves. This story is very much a might makes right world. I can see the logic in that. Since it's a story I don't care about if it's moral as long as it makes sense. What bothers me is the treatment afterwards because it's hypocritical. If you're gonna go out of your way to kidnap them under the pretense of taking care of them then do it properly and at least make sure they're living well.

      Delete
    8. never thought of it like that...congrats, you've made my opinion of her worse than it already was.

Just hen I thought I can't hate the S chapter any further, he give me this shit.

    2. wait how do you know he'll make them apologize

      Delete
    3. He won't. He's talking nonsense. Shun is the most righteous person in the entire story with the possible exception of his dead brother. There's no way he's going to condone kidnapping and imprisoning people. He might still trust sensei to help out and provide information but this and that are different things.

      Delete
    4. he's not really righteous, more naive. There are better examples for righteous characters, MUCH BETTER.

      Delete
    5. Yeah for whatever reason he's probably the worst character when it comes to adapting to this world. This isn't Japan but he keeps viewing things from the perspective of a Japanese leaving in peaceful times.

He just doesn't seem to be able to rap his head around what he has to do if he wants himself and the people he cares about to live.

      Delete
    6. He's definitely righteous. Saying he's naive does nothing to counter it because they have nothing to do with each other. He's naive in not know how bad poor people have it. He's naive in taking the way the world works that sensei tells him at face value. Doesn't have anything to do with his treating everyone well, and not taking lives unnecessarily. It's not like he's releasing bandits without punishment saying they've learned their lesson.

Shun has adapted like a fish to water in some senses. He's probably already the strongest human in the world and he's like 12. The only reason Yuugo's plan worked is because he's not constantly appraising the people around him.

    8. We haven't seen him do much yet and he hasn't explicitly said his intentions. We've seen him be naive, but I don't see where your getting the notion of him being righteous.

      Delete
    9. I'm getting it from his actions. He's honest, hardworking, humble, kind. Once he heard the remnants only attacked people in self defense he questioned if they could be considered monsters, he didn't make killing blows on the mind controlled soldiers even if it put himself into danger. He just has that shounen MC righteousness about him.

      Delete
    10. Corey1873 you're being delusional. First of all what part of him is hard working, huh?
He already got 100000 skill point, and he never used until Yuugo attacked. He endanger his friend again and again, this can be seen in how he provoke his opponent by using Appraisal. He also never put serious effort in his sword training, with his boost in status he should be able to take care a dragon Solo. All in all he just spoiled brat without any knowledge about the world.
I seriously fail to see your point at all.

      Delete
    11. Do you even hear yourself talking? He got 100,000 skill points and didn't use them. In other words he worked the hard way to get and train skills. His friends endanger themselves by following him into dangerous situations willingly. He's only appraised enemies that were already going to attack them. Saying he's never put serious effort into his training is baseless. You're literally just making things up and using them to support your nonsense. Proof? We haven't even seen Shun's status since like his first fight with Yuugo. Also he already said that he had an even chance of soling a dragon.

    1. Legolas is not an Elf. J R R Tolkien emphasized that they are not your ordinary elves like in other fanatsy :p

      Delete
    2. Well, to be fair, the elves as we know them didn't really exist before the emergence of the fantasy genre with among other tolkien. They're basically a mix between faeries and tuatha de danann and while there were similar beings, the stereotyping starts from that point onwards. And well, jackson with his bows naturally >.>

      Delete
    3. What nonsense are you talking about Gibbs? Ordinary elves meant something completely different when Tolkien was around. Think Santa's elves. The elves in Tolkien's story are the root inspiration for the modern elves in most fantasy stories. This story is using the Tolkien inspired brand of elf so saying Legolas doesn't count in this context is absurd.

      Delete
    4. well even if it's using the Tolken type of elves, the author is free to twist them and any fantasy race to anything they see fit. Dwarves might be lean, sober acrobats.

but yeah, haven't seen elves that were good for anything other than hentai or harem members (might as well be hentai) in awhile...

  14. Hey what with you guys.... for me sensei is just a little bit over protective if I have to say.
think if u r an adult with bunch of children that you want to protect in the world full of fight, killing, power struggle, monsters, and you know there are some higher up existence that give you the power of skills and want all of you to fight to the death what would you do?
a.) put them all straight to fight to gain skill with the great chance of death(already 4 death from what she say) and also chance to be corrupt by power like Yuuko.
    OR
b.) put them all in to safe shelter far away from all conflict?
if b.) is the answer the rest of her action is just to ensure there safety even if some look a little bit too much.

    5. well every action of the sensei can be think in the over protective side of view for me(sensei action, not the elves).
for taking parent with them the kid will be influence with the way people in this world think, more likely to be brainwash like that religion girl, more chance of escape blabla etc. and I still don't see how can they be pacified with there parents together, and also added that they are reincarnate person some parent may even not take them as there child when they know the truth.
and the elves may not help with full good intention but without there help in the beginning how can a lone sensei without any knowledge of this new world locate and shelter the kid?

If I lived in this world and I told you that I'm fine I don't need you protecting me that's it.
I'm not going to take kindly to you kidnapping me and telling me its for my own better protection.
Even if they look like kids they should be practically adults mentally now.

@arnold jayeola eh seriously those Bastard elf really did something like that ? well i now kinda understand those student resentment toward sensei if that was the case, well maybe they attachment to their new "parent" might be low but nevertheless knowing someone who close to you from baby get killed and then you get abducted to be imprisoned like that it's normal to feel resentment

    9. c'mon arnold, we were all holding back on that.

but yeah, if you look at it from Oka and their perspective, they are far to old for her to be "protecting" them like this.

    11. @arnold yea that's exactly what I mean by being over protective, use what ever you see fit to protect, be it killing other, abduction, confinement or even if that is against the will of one you want to protect, but all of that action come from a single thought of want to protect them and not even have a single ill intention toward them.

well I'm not mean that what she do is the right thing or happy with it but I just can't hate her with this perspective in mind.

and also they are not a 30 yrs old mentally when they just come to this world right, donno their class b4 the reincarnation but must be somewhere around 13-16 yrs old and that is still in the protected age for me. and even a almost 30 yrs old shun right now still need to be protect from that naive way of thinking you know lol.

    12. Wow dude it's not the perspective, it's the action. Who ever believed what they were doing is wrong yet push through with it while people are being harmed? No, it's always for the greater good. And that's exactly what she should be evaluating, her actions.

She should had done it in a way where they wouldn't be isolated from the world...Sensei was right though. They would absolutely be targeted by the Admins and be used as a tool for their energy...I hope in the end they can be together somehow, someway.

    1. Not just that, most of these guys are overpowered and will easily go psycho. Look at Yuugo. A good 50-70% would become ironic tyrants thinking they're doing good. The best case scenario, if dying wasn't a problem, would have been to kill them off since they're dead already, technically. sensei is a softie.

  22. well that confirmed some suspicions. the only reason shun, katio, saint and yuugo were spared was cause they couldn't be abducted without reprecusiions...so they were groomed to be allies instead -.-

i used to think sensei was just a deceived fool too but... D said the soul reincarnated to similar wavelengths...and she reincarnated into a full blooded elf.
